Favourable cooperation between TMU's CSTRAD and the Centre for International Trade and Business of Asia (CITBA), James Cook University (Australia)

22/08/2023
CSTRAD, TMU is delighted to announce a favourable cooperation between the Centre for International Trade and Business of Asia (CITBA), James Cook University (Australia) and the Center of Science & Technology Research and Development (CSTRAD), Thuongmai University. This joint undertaking aspires to build strong synergies between the institutions, with strategic areas and priorities that will benefit both the academic and broader communities, between Vietnam, Australia and the Asian region. In making this commitment, we demonstrate our united commitment to research excellence and in advancing meaningful outcomes through cooperative actions.

CITBA’s goal is to “…increase and share knowledge about the opportunities in economic development, business and international trade in Asia and the Asian Tropics. CITBA actively advocates for research and industry engagement in the business and international trading hub of Asia and the Asian Tropics, and with its multi-location structure, it works to strengthen research and economic ties between Australia, Singapore, and other countries” (https://www.jcu.edu.au/citba). As CITBA and TMU share closely linked research commitments, the initial foci and areas of collaboration will include international trade, trade policy, and business strategy.

Thus, this amalgamation of expertise and with both parties’ ongoing commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in relation to SDG8, SDG9, SDG11, SDG12, and importantly, SDG17, the collaboration will enable researchers and staff from our organisations to actively promote and sustain quality in high impact global research. Through this promising partnership, our organisations bring together their own perspectives, knowledge and competence to complement each other.
